Servicing
Prevention is always better than cure. Having your vehicle serviced at the correct intervals, as set by the manufacturer is imperative and will prevent premature engine wear and unnecessary faults.
Although currently vehicles in the UK are MOT tested every 3 years and then every year, the MOT is quite a basic safety check in comparison to the inspections carried out through the life of the vehicle according to its service schedule.
If your vehicle is covered by a new car warranty or a third party warranty company you must also keep to the schedule for your policy to be valid in the event of a claim.
Missing stamps from your service book will also affect the cars resale value so keeping up to date is important to ensure you get the best price when it’s time to sell your vehicle on.
True or false: “While under manufacturer’s warranty you must use a main dealer for servicing”… FALSE!
Block Exemption Rules which came in to force in 2002 mean that you’re perfectly entitled to take your car to your local VAT registered garage or independent specialist for servicing as long as genuine or “good quality” parts are used. These rules were created to result in competition in the servicing and repair market, leading to lower costs and higher standards for you, the consumer.
We do not have our own service menu as doing so would contradict your vehicles specific service schedule. Unless otherwise instructed by you, we will service exactly to the manufacturers schedule, meaning that you’re getting the same service that you would from a main dealer. ACTUALLY, we offer far more. When booked
with us for a service your vehicle will receive the following, totally free of charge:
-
A 3D digital 4 wheel alignment check with a full colour printed report – Normally over £25.
Ensuring that your vehicles alignment is correct is important for a number of reasons, mainly to increase the life of your tyres (by eliminating uneven wear), increase your fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. Click here for full details.
-
An air conditioning refrigerant level check – Normally £21.

Most manufacturers recommend that your air con system is re-gassed every 2 years. Running the air con system with low gas is similar to running the engine with low oil. The system contains many expensive parts that have to work harder when the level of refrigerant is low, which in turn can cause premature failure. We weigh the amount of gas in system and will advise as to whether a re-gas is required. Click here for full details.
-
Wash & hoover
All service vehicles receive a complimentary exterior wash and footwell hoover.
