COVID-19 Customer Information

Operational Changes for COVID-19

We have carried out a Risk Assessment and put some changes into place to ensure that we’re keeping our customers and staff as safe as we can during COVID-19.  Here’s a brief list of the changes we have made but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us and ask.

  • We have set up a drop off and collection point just inside the reception door so that there’s a safe distance between customers and staff.
  • We ask that only 1 customer enters the reception area at a time (unless part of the same household).
  • Vehicle keys are disinfected upon entry to the garage, and before you collect the vehicle.
  • Both customers and staff areas are being regularly cleaned with VIRO-KILL biocidal disinfectant.
  • Technicians are wearing new gloves and using a new steering wheel cover and seat cover for every vehicle.
  • Parts delivery drivers are not allowed through the reception, or inside the building, and are delivering parts to a dedicated area just inside our workshop door.
  • Both customers and staff are requested not to visit if they or any member of their family have shown possible symptoms of COVID-19.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR WAITING AREA IS CURRENTLY CLOSED – you’re welcome to book a while-you-wait appointment and go for a walk or a wander around the town.

We apologise in advance but we are not currently valeting vehicles. This is due both to reduced staff numbers, the risk of cross-contamination and varying information regarding how long the virus can live on various surfaces.

Advice – MOT Extensions

The government have agreed to give a 6-month extension to vehicles that were due their MOT on or after the 30th March 2020.  However, if you are using your vehicle, we would recommend having the MOT test carried out. The reason for this is that the government have stipulated that you ‘must keep your vehicle safe to drive’ so it must be in a roadworthy condition.
